    • October 23, 2014 – Preventing Senior Falls

      The next workshop in the Matter of Balance series designed to prevent the risk of senior falls will take place 2 to 4 p.m. Oct. 23. The final session is Oct. 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. The workshop will help you recognize factors in the home that could make you fall. You will learn gentle exercises professionally designed to increase strength and balance and how to lessen the risk of falls. This is a free workshop series but reservations were required by Sept. 4. If openings exist, persons on the back-up list will be contacted.

    • October 31, 2014 – Halloween Fling

      The Halloween Fling will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31--actually on Halloween! Rick & Sue of Muskingum County, an outstanding singing duet, will perform. There will be a costume competition so dress up in your Halloween finest. Please obtain your $1 admission ticket at the receptionist desk by Friday, Oct. 24. The ticket of course also includes the cost of a great lunch plus the entertainment.

    • November 7, 2014 – Veterans Honors Ceremony

      This solemn and celebratory event is in its 17th year at LCAP. The Veterans Honors Ceremony begins at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 7. It will feature the traditional Roll Call of Honors of deceased veterans whose names you can submit. The ceremony is followed by a luncheon featuring a complete turkey meal. Veterans receive free tickets at the receptionist desk through Oct. 31. Non-veterans tickets are $8. EJ and Barb, our house band, are putting together a terrific patriotic music show from 1 to approximately 2:30 p.m.

The Licking County Aging Program was on the campaign trail Thursday, Oct. 23 in pursuit of votes in favor of the 1.2-mill Senior Services Renewal Levy. Wiener Roast & Hayride Canceled by Rain

The drenching rain that is expected today has regrettably forced the Licking County Aging Program to cancel the wiener roast and hayride scheduled for tonight. The marshmallows would get too soggy and so would you! The event will not be rescheduled. Our apologies to all of you who made reservations to attend.
