    • September 18, 2014 – Preventing Senior Falls

      The next workshop in the Matter of Balance series designed to prevent the risk of senior falls will take place Sept. 18. The other sessions are Sept, 25, Oct. 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. (all on Thursdays). The workshops will help you recognize factors in the home that could make you fall. You will learn gentle exercises professionally designed to increase strength and balance and how to lessen the risk of falls. This is a free workshop series but reservations were required by Sept. 4. If openings exist, persons on the back-up list will be contacted.

      The always-fun Breakfast Club meets at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24th at the Bob Evans in Heath. Don't forget to wear your club button. You are responsible for your meal payment but it is worth the price to enjoy good friends, fellowship and conversation. As well as eggs.

      It is time to sit back, tap your feet and clap your hands to the musical entertainment of local singer Gene Perrine. Gene will perform at the Friday Fling, 11 a.m. Sept. 26. The menu includes homemade beef stew over biscuits, salad and apple pie. Tickets $1. The purchase deadline is Friday, Sept. 19. Tickets available at the receptionist's desk. Event includes 50/50s and door prizes.
