Project Lifesaver

Safety Program for Seniors!

PROJECT LIFESAVER was adopted in July 2007. The program aids caregivers and families of person’s suffering from Alzheimer’s, Dementia and other related disorders. So often, individuals suffering from these disorders tend to wander and become disoriented and lost. Project Lifesaver’s mission is to use state of the art technology in locating these persons in a timely manner and returning them home safely. This program is funded through the Senior Levy. Autistic and Down syndrome children and adults are also served through this program and are funded by county office of MRDD.

Clients are fitted with a personalized wristband that emits a tracking signal 24 hours a day on an individually assigned FM radio frequency. The signal can then be tracked on the ground or in the air over several miles. Project Lifesaver saves lives and further serves the community by significantly reducing the need for extensive search and rescue operations that are extremely costly in terms of human and financial resources.
